Miscellany, 1769-1772 [photoprints].

The records are estimates, proposals, drafts, surveys and sketches for the construction of canals to connect the Delaware River and Chesapeake Bay. Several routes were examined, from New Castle County in the north to Sussex County in the south. The project was revived after the Revolution and eventually completed by the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal Company in 1829.
